Vintage Sindy Carboot sale bargains!

Had an amazing day at the car boot sale today.
I have started a dolls house so I am anxious to start filling it, ideally with vintage Sindy.

So, what was the first thing I found at the carboot sale?
A box of vintage Sindy furniture for £3!!

I've been looking at this bureau on Ebay, now if I could just find the dressing table, room divider, clothes rail and kitchen dresser.

I also got this lonely Sindy doll for 50p but don't tell my husband, I don't need another collection lol. Check out my Flickr to see my other bargains and some piccies of my Dolls house in progress.
I'm going to make a blog post about it soon.

Happy Carbooting!

Last week's car boot bargains.

Vintage Sindy boots from the sale next door for 50p a pair.
I was so pleased to find them and was rummaging round the tub trying to find a nice clean pair of white ones that I didn't notice that I had got an odd pair lol. The boot on the left is larger lol.
I left one boot in the tub, boo.

I had a great day at the car boot sales on Sunday. I went to two and I'm so pleased as I nearly didn't go to the second one :D

I got the Pedigree Sindy Greenhouse and a couple of accessories from the Funtime Sindy Country Garden set! I am soo pleased with this as I stumbled accross it on Ebay one day when looking for Blythe things and totally fell in love with it for NaughtyPixie, she loves gardening :D

It still has the pond/rockery and a watering can. I haggled with the lady to get the dresser thrown in free as it was the last of my money and late in the day. It also came with two plastic play mat things and some cardboard garden back drops but they don't appear to be from the same set.

Still haven't taken piccies of the vintage sindy boots I got at last weeks carboot sales!

Ornithology Collection - New Collection Listed

I was just browsing on Etsy and saw a dress with a similar theme to my Ornithology Collection that I have been working on for weeks.
I thought I would list what I have finished now as I would hate to be accused of copying.

So check 'em out they are listed in my shop now!

Fabric Friday! Another teaser for the new collection.

This weeks fabrics aren't new, I've already made a couple of things in the shop out of them.

These all have a vintage or retro feel to them. I particularly love the kittens and the peach children. All from Sew Simple at Taverham Garden Centre as per usual :D

I am job hunting at the moment, I've been turned down for two already this year. I have four applications in at the moment. If all fails with these I will be sending my CVs out, to Sew Simple in particular. Maybe it's fate eh?

Here is another quick teaser for the new collection. A little bit more clear than the last one.

I am just about to make the last 9 dresses. 18 down! Still waiting for Vista Print but I've had another idea for the packaging :D

I hope they go well, I'd like to announce a date to list them al at once lol but I'd hate to do that and then no one buy them! How embarrassing! LOL.

I'm even thinking about the next collection, is it silly to do a whole series of dresses in one colour? I really like red!

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, pray for sun as we're behind on the gardening, at least my fruit bushes look established now. I'm hoping to plant up more, two blueberries, a raspberry and a tub of herbs while my husband fixes the chicken house and rigs us up a couple of water butts. Plus I want to sort out the green house, at least I can do that in the rain!

Lots of love,

Freya and NaughtyPixie.

Vintage Linen Hankerchiefs.

I have a friend called Helen.
She is a retired School teacher from the isle of Sark in the Channel Islands.
When I first went to her house I was speachless. Her Kitchen is full of craft books, her lounge full of knitting, her sewing room floor to ceiling with fabrics and jars of buttons, her spare room is wall to wall yarn organised and boxed by colour, the hall way has a dress mannequin draped with bags, even her husband's office has boxes of dolls stacked high.

I first met Helen at a craft fair where I had a stall. She bought a few of my things and I liked her.
Later on she gave me a call and offered me some vintage hand made underwear, camisoles and petticoats, that sort of thing, which was the reason for visiting her house.
I felt like I had met my future self.

So anyway, these Vintage hankerchiefs are a gift from Helen and I love them. I have given in to my hoarding tendancies and if it means I have a house full like hers then so be it, I'll love it!!!
SHOP UPDATE!

Today's dress was a bit of an experiment, I'm not sure

about it.
I had lost my mojo yesterday and couldn't do anything right, I wrote numbers in the words part when writing a cheque, I spilt soup everywhere when making tea, chipped a cup washing up and wrote £ for weight and vice versa when filling out customs forms at the post office.
So today is monday, OK!!!
Lots of love,
Freya and NaughtyPixie.

Today's car boot finds

I am mad on car boot sales.
I collect just about every toy from the 80's and go mad at car boot sales.
My house is next door to a car boot sale (that is one reason we bought it, that and walking distance from a pub lol.)
I even joke that we bought the house at a carboot sale because we saw the sale bought after being at that car boot.

So £1.35 later and this is what I came home with today for my girls :D Take a look at my flickr for the 80's toy goodness I found.

Last week I got a bath and a side table thing for them (also see Flickr). I am really looking for a house now, I still cringe when I think of the vintage Sindy one for £5 that I turned down last year :*( because of Space. If only I had Blythe then.

Today's shop updated.

Fabric for Friday! Etsy update & New collection teaser.

I am addicted to Fabric.

These are my latest buys, about two weeks ago. A trip to my favourite fabric shop is a real outing. It's in a garden centre and they have a lovely cafe, gift shop and a dolls house shop (loads more but I don't visit the others lol)

Sew Simple is like Hobbycraft but independant. It's VAST! :D

They have a massive quilting supplies section and whoever orders their fabric has great taste. There's more than your average stuffy granny quilting fabric here.

I've even found cute Japanese import printed linen there :D

I give myself a limit of four fat quarters each visit (I've spent £45 in one go in the past, luckily they have a reward card LOL) and I really relish wandering around taking my time choosing. I'll put anything that catches my eye in my basket and then I will cut them down to the last four choices.

I am so chuffed with the froggy canvas there, it's more of a heavy weave like a linen or soft canvas and great for this little raincoat I made for NaughtyPixie.

I really want some froggy rement boots now!!!

Today's Etsy update.

BUTTONS! Linen and cotton vintage style dress with mother of Pearl and vintage buttons.

NEW COLLECTION!

At the moment I am posting one dress a day to Etsy, but in the background I am working on a new collection to list together at once. Hopefully my supplies will arrive soon and I will be able to finish but in the mean time here is a teaser photo to give you an idea of things to come.

I told you it was just a little tease, you'll have to wait to see more.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, I hope to spend it gardening.
Love,
Freya and NaughtyPixie.

Shabby Chic, vintage style Teacup dress.

I love a bit of Shab by Chic I do.
I could just EAT gorgeous linens cottons and prints!!
If only I could pull of the chic myself a bit more often than the shabby.

Anyway, here is today's creation. I had a bit of random lace left over to added it underneath the button to make a little corsage, cute :D

OLD!! :D

I'm on a revamping mission this week.

Pom pom addition to an old dress, again I thought it needed something and new photographs.

Working on more dresses for a collection to update my shop in one go! I'm really pleased so far. I'm trying to develop a style that hasn't been done too much. I hope I have achieved it. You can be sure it'll be a bit shabby chic lol, I'm getting sick of myself saying that now.

Tomorrow I will try not to spam you to death with dress sales stuff lol.
